Have-A-Go Archery
On Sunday, 27 September, the Dunedin Archery Club is taking part in the Annual Valley Fest by hosting another popular Have-a-Go session.
Join us between 1:00pm and 3.00pm to challenge your family and friends—whether it is your partner, son, or daughter—to see who can hit the gold. You will use modern bows, arrows, and all necessary safety equipment. After a brief introduction from a registered coach, you will be scoring points in no time.
A small charge applies ($10 for 12 arrows), with all proceeds supporting a special fundraiser.
Pathway for Paul
Paul, a dedicated para-archer, and his coach, Garry, are taking on an incredible endurance challenge: shooting continuously for 12 hours at Chingford Park.
Their goal goes beyond endurance. They are raising funds to build a safe, accessible concrete path so Paul and other wheelchair users can independently reach the park for training and recreation.
Currently, the area requires navigating steps or a steep clay bank, which becomes treacherous in winter. This path will benefit anyone using wheelchairs, prams, or those who find climbing steps difficult.
The target is to raise approximately $8,000 through their Give a Little page.
Come along to support the cause—all donations, large or small, are welcome—and try out archery. It is a very infectious sport!
