I am an experienced secondary maths teacher and mother of three offering a variety of maths classes for children in 2022.

In my Number Sense classes, primary and intermediate students will be thinking outside the box to explore a range of core mathematical skills. Your children will be drawing, playing games and challenging themselves to feel comfortable using maths in everyday situations, which will set them up beautifully for mastering more challenging concepts in the future. These classes will be roughly grouped according to ability level, so if your child is ready for fractions, decimals and percents, please sign up for Advanced Number Sense.

In my Maths Art classes that are open to students of any age and ability, students will learn that maths isn’t all about numbers. It’s about the connections between numbers; it’s about exploring shapes and looking for patterns; it’s about drawing with rulers, and compasses and protractors. Maths Art is about starting with a mathematical concept, and then branching out to see how that idea can be displayed visually. It suits both the able mathematician and the reluctant learner by inspiring them to understand maths differently than they have in the past.

The fees for 2022 will be $88 per 8-week term, but please enquire if cost is an issue.

I also teach home-schooled students during the day and tutor secondary students privately from 5:30 pm, so please ask about special arrangements.

Nga mihi, Sandra.
